There is No Cost to Participate
Upromise is a Nationally recognized college fund and rewards service. Complete information regarding the company can be found at www.Upromise.com. They bring together a college savings investment program with hundreds of companies who are willing to donate a few pennies per purchase as part of a good will and public relations campaign. There is never any cost for you to participate.

In addition, Upromise Investments, Inc. (UII) is a registered broker-dealer and wholly-owned subsidiary of Upromise and gives members access to two of America's top-rated 529 college savings plans, including the Upromise College Fund in which Pennies for Scholars and Zachary's Promise participate.

Shopping for a College
You can make a donation to Zachary's college fund simply by going to the grocery store or drug store! How? By registering your store discount cards through the Pennies for Scholars program. Once registered, every time you go shopping, purchase qualifying products, and use your discount card, the product manufacturer will automatically donate 1% to 4% of the purchase price to our educational fund. There is no mark-up, no extra fees, you are not charged anything extra, and you do not need to change your shopping habits in any way. The one simple step to get you started is in the next paragraph (right below).

One Simple Step
1. Choose to participate and complete a very short registration form. That's it!

Sit back and enjoy knowing your participation is making a significant difference in a little boy's life. We will complete all the 'paperwork,' register your grocery and drugstore discount cards with Upromise and send you a confirmation email. The more grocery and drug store discount cards you enter, the more opportunity for manufacturers' contributions.

If you prefer to sign up as a sponsor directly through Upromise, just send us an email. We will initiate the process and Upromise will send a registration link directly to you that will take you through a more complicated process that includes all the options of registering your credit cards (in addition to your grocery cards), signing up for a Upromise credit card, installing shopping toolbars for your browser, establishing a personal profile, authorizing and deauthorizing parties to email you, and numerous other options.

Ready to Make a Larger Contribution?
Once you are comfortable with the grocery and drugstore discount card sponsorship program, you may receive an announcment promoting another option available through Upromise.com. This additional option is to register your credit cards for another automatic 1% to 4% rewards program. When you register your credit cards with Upromise.com, many stores, gas stations, and restaurants will automatically donate funds to Zachary's 529 account. There is no mark-up, you are not charged anything extra, you still earn your normal credit card rewards, and you do not need to change your shopping habits in any way.

Zachary's sponsors do not usually start with the credit card option and we are OK with that. Once you are familiar with the program, the idea of registering your credit cards is no more complicated or worrisome than registering for "frequent flyer miles." But, if you are anything like me, you will want to understand the process more fully and find out how reliable, easy, and secure the service is, first.

Traditional Donations
To maintain our promise that 100% of all contributions collected go directly to a 529 College Education account and that no contribution every touches our hands except as a payment for college, we manage this process carefully, will complete the appropriate form, and send it directly to you. Please click this link and email us your contact information and I will be in touch with you as soon as possible. And, as much as I would like to tell you cash donations are tax deductible, unfortunately they are not.
